My fiber education started with my mother teaching me to sew.  This grew into making and designing my own clothes.  After marrying I made quilts, wall hangings and other decorative articles.  Having children brought the opportunity to design and make clothes for them.  When my children were growing I had a small at home sewing business where I made clothing, did alterations and taught sewing.

After getting some sheep for my three children as a 4-H project, I realized that I liked sheep and wool and started building a flock of my own.  Soon I began learning about wool and how to spin. While continuing to manage my flock, I designed and made original wool teddy bears, dressing them in hand-knit sweaters made with wool from my sheep.  Over the next several years, I also started wet felting to make feet and hand pads, as well as accessories for my bears, which led to my experimenting with needle felting and my felt art.

My current one-of-a-kind work combines my interest in natural and manmade landscape, gardening, farming and being in the woods.  I exhibit and sell my work in juried shows, both locally and throughout Ohio, and have a goal to exhibit nationally and internationally.  I work in my light-filled home studio overlooking the rural landscape, southeast of Newark, Ohio.

To increase my expertise I have taken many classes in spinning, weaving, felting, drawing, design and collage.

The pieces shown on my website are examples of my style and technique. If you are interested in purchasing an available piece or commissioning me for other work, please contact me.
